Toddler Tantrums

Are not my favorite part of motherhood, by far. I just want to run away when they start. And when it's a tantrum because the child in question had to get out of the tub, and it happens every time he takes a bath, it makes me never want to give him a bath ever again. That's all, that is what is making me the most crazy right now as a mom. I really don't know what to do with myself besides completely ignore him until it's over. Man, my head hurts.

Hallie used to do this and we started threatening to turn the cold water on, then she'd get out in a hurry.

Cute blog!

I remember when Ian was having one of those bathtime tantrums, and I threatened to never let him have a bath again. That's when I looked at myself and just started laughing, but I kind of meant it. They are so frustrating!

I used to have the same problem with Lucy. Luckily I figured out that if she has a really cute towel to get into afterwards she gets out a little more willingly. Maybe take taylor to pick out an animal towel or something that he'll be excited about using. I hate tantrums too.

I've never seen a bath tantrum. But, for us, tantrums in general stopped about the time we stopped giving the child kool-aid. Just an idea.

Have an "after-bath-snakc" something that he ONLY gets after a bath and at no other time. That way he'll look forward to his after bath snack and get out of the tub. Or he might just have a tantrum because you won't let him have his snack IN the tub. It's worth a shot though.
